two things really stick out about this picture, as I have a 1977 A/C Maverick with a 250/c4

My A/C compressor looks NOTHING like that :hmmm:

And whats up with the shock tower brace that loops around the brake booster??? I dont have a brake booster so maybe thats why its like that...

Mine doesnt have that wraparound support and my compressor was horizontal, not vertical like that one :hmmm:

The shock tower brace is a standard thing on all power brake Mavericks and Comets.

I have 4 factory 250 cars with A/C, and that is the standard mounting on the compressor as far as I've ever seen. I don't really see how there would be room to mount it horizontally. Did your car have factory A/C?

    yeah, factory A/C

Mine was mounted below the alternator, and the alternator was ran by a belt running to the rear pulley of the compressor

ive owned 37 of these cars, parted out several others, and have picked parts off of hundreds in junkyards and ive NEVER seen an ac compressor mounted like that. i believe you have a dealer installed setup.

the 250's that came with a/c even had their own special bracket that specificly mounted the alternator on the bottom and the compressor on top. and your's is just completely backwards...lol

i agree. all of the cars that ive had with factory a/c have all been the same

Where's your A/C lines? they should go out the rad support, and the drier should be mounted up there also...

    Its a 250.

    7X91L107625, original motor

The bracket on the engine holds both the alternator and a/c compressor, the bracket that adjusts the alternator is bolted to the compressor...so you have to adjust the compressor first, and then the alternator....if you take the compressor off, youll need to readjust the alternator when it is reinstalled.

cant remember where the a/c lines were ran, as Ive deleted all of that since Ive owned the car and the alternator moved to where the A/C used to be...if Im not mistaken they were ran behind the engine to the compressor.

well someone has changed something over the years, but i didnt think the brackets from a 170/200 would fit a 250... interesting...

I could snap a few pics of the current setup if youd like to see if they match the 170's/200's...how do I tell if its a 200 from the motor? maybe they did do a 200 swap but the guy told me it was original everything.
