Thats why i said id send it back... because aluminum can't rust. but for $35 bucks he got a better looking manifold than he started out with
71gold, I like the detail in the motor you are putting together. And truly representing with the Maverick covers. I like that!! I will PM you to find out more about the car you are putting together. I also have my new RPM intake buttoned up to a very clean motor, but the intake does look like yours did before coating. I am now thinking about pulling it back off to coat. Does anyone know how this holds up to heat in that area. I was told there are knockoff's out there when buying and that was my initial thought..., but I remembered I got it from Summit so it's gotta be the real deal. I will do a simple clean tomm. with what I think will take it off. Just some WD or any solvent type degreaser and a little scotch pad. If not, were coating.
thanks :Handshake a pic. of the car and a pic. of the motor as i plumb the fuel line... (am i 'jacking my own thread?)
You should've left the rust on the intake to match your car. Fo' real? Is that an old photo of your current Maverick? It made a very nice comeback.
thanks :Handshake that's it...the guy had it on a rollback heading to the crusher i gave him $50 bucks and he took it to a guys house for me. here is the inside...
Yea ,see his shop pics. It is flawless. But I agree that rust came from somewhere. aluminum does not rust. It was a stain. I would bet it was from metal dust at the edelbrock machine and or packaging. Aluminum does oxidize. Frank Intake looks great. I am powder coating mine clear too....
You go Frank! In the first pic I thought Effie was letting you build that motor in the kitchen! Nice cabinets in your new garage! Nice motor too! When are you heading to Sanford again? Seth
