What material is the 6602 header? I might find a welder who can fix it. When I put a magnet on it, it sticks! Not 304 stainless?! Maybe carbon steel... Has a yellowish oxide layer. Not too much rust.
"I have a set of 6602, but they leak right at the flange to the head. I could possibly have them re-welded but I think the heat cycles would probably break the weld again." most MIG or TIG welders shouldn't have a problem repairing cracks or separations on Hookers. . The Dual Out longtubes' are subject to a lot of strain/torqueing' at exh.ports due to their length and weight. A good practice is to sufficiently support them AND provide Flex-Pipe fittings at collectors to keep them intact. hav fun .
409 Stainless has a little carbon in it (making it easier to weld), so magnet will stick and will eventually tarnish (yellowish) get surface rust, but still will last a very long time, probably outlast any of our cars...... David
