New ceramic brake pads squeal

    Yup...

    After I started to hear it again, I looked between the spokes and the tape was crispy and peeling back, like onion-skin.

    You musta used the cheap stuff Scott,I have used (3-M) for years,even cooked it has still done the job for me.I only put one layer on though not 2,dont know if that made a difference for you.Well guess youll have to try some of the other goo products on the market,sorry it didnt work out for you Scott.

    I used whatever tape they had at the hardware store. I may try 3-m, and just one layer. It DOES work, but I need to find a tape that doesn't get crispy.

    The stuff I used was black, also...wonder if that made a difference. Might be a cheaper brand.

    I know the gray stuff just gets gummy when hot, not crispy, which would help it out with the squeal.:huh:
