    Very Nice!

That is a heck of a pack of cars you have there.

When you dig the GT out, let me know if you would like it added
to the '71-'75 Comet GT Registry.

I am kind of partial to red GT's myself.

I would be happy to. The pic is kind of deceiving, its actually a orange color. It has been repainted, but looks to be matched to the original color. One question I have, is the stripe correct? I've seen them curved, but not straight. The Comet appears to be mostly original, except for the wheels, 4bbl carb, and the one repaint. Thanks again for the compliments.

Yup, 71-72 GT stripes were straight like that. 73+ were curved

Another couple of questions. The color, it's an orange. Was that a factory color or special order? I know without the paint code i'm not much help. The paint is very hard to tell its been repainted. Matches the engine bay and jams, even the trunk. Also the tail lamp panel is blacked out. Is that original? Do you have to pull the glass to install a headliner? Last one is, does anybody make a rear seat top upholstry cover?

Your car appears to be 'Bright Red'. Look at the door jamb for a paint code:
    1A - Light Gray Poly
    2A - Medium Coral
    2B - Bright Red
    2E - Red
    2J - Maroon *
    3B - Light Blue
    3D - Medium Blue Poly *
    3F - Grabber Blue
    3H - Dark Blue Poly * 3J - Bright Blue Poly
4B - Bright Green Gold Poly
    4C - Ivy Bronze Poly
    4E - Bright Lime *
    4F - Medium Lime Poly
    4P - Medium Green Poly
    4Q - Dark Green Poly
    5A - Light Pewter Poly
    5H - Medium Brown Poly
5J - Medium Ginger Bronze Poly
6C - Medium Yellow Gold Poly
    6D - Yellow
    6E - Medium Bright Yellow *
6F - Bright Yellow Gold Poly
    6J - Gray Gold Poly
    9 - Anti-Established Mint Green
    9A - White
    0 - Light Yellow Gold
    1C - Black

Most likely yours is Bright Red-same as my car. The original enamel paints fade easily and in neon lights can really look orange. :yup:

Tail panel in low gloss/satin black is factory.

Glass removed is the easier way to install a headliner.

Reproduction seat covers are in the works:bouncy:, but not yet available.

Thanks. Colors are tough for me, kinda color blind. I'll have to get it out in the sun and cleaned up. She hasn't been on the road in about ten years. Been in a barn for all that time. Moved last year due to a mouse getting in the headliner. I will not complain at all considering it only cost me $1200. Not trying to brag, just deals like that for a rust free car don't come often.

    Welcome to the Madness!

Actually, with a collection of classics like you already have, you have been experiencing the Madness for some time, it seems.

I like Torinos, too. I had a great '69 Torino GT htp back in '71. It took me on many journeys back in those youthful days. They are great cars, along with Cougars and Mustangs.

    It's all good! Enjoy!!

At 18 i bought the first, a 67 Custom 2dr post. Built the motor then proceded to drive it into the ground. Then it ended at the dragstrip when the rusty frame broke and the rear bumper layed down at half track. Still pulled a 13.2 in the quarter sparks flying. I have had 2 70 Cougars, but sold them when I couldn't get quarter panels for them. Had a pair of rusty 69 Mustang converts, but was young and didn't have the meens or resources to fix them. So they went down the road. Then I got into the odd ball cars. Started with my Torinos then a 64 Comet, now a 72 Comet GT. At 28 I have had a share of madness, but back for more everyday
