When these are finally released there will only be one maybe two in each case if 72 cars. You will have to get up early every Saturday and go and get in line with all of the other collectors to find these in the stores. If you wait to long they sometimes change a feature on the car which then makes the first released ones even harder to find because of all of the fleamarket hoarders grabbing the variations up to sell for $5.

sounds like they're not gonna be that easy to come by. I guess that gives me all the more reason to buy every single one i see :D

Great. I really like the hotwheel version. Is it going to make the maverick more popular, make for buying parts more expensive.:hmmm:

I knew about the K-Mart days but not with that much detail, i didn't know they did it quite like that. It would be kinda cool if they did something like that up here.

I am pretty sure that Mattel was spiking the water with something then, or has subliminal advertising going on. That was right when redlines really started gaining value, and it seems like everyone started hoarding blue cards. What are they worth now? ... hard to sell them for $1 at toy shows. It works better if you sell all the car in a series together.

I have a grandson who is 5 now ... he has gotten a huge pile of them.

Before he came along, I donated some to charity, especially when Hurricane Katrina hit. I also gave them out at Halloween a couple of years. It is pretty cool to see the shock on a kid's face when you drop a HW in their candy bag.

I donate a full case of HotWheels (72 cars) every year to Toys For Tots. Last year my Wife made me buy some addition dolls for the girls because she said I was playing favorites with the boy toys ...

you are totally right about those years of cars. first on treasure hunts, redline vaule going up etc. but yep probably not worth more then a buck! oh well. had a few differant ones that sold ok but not for the amount of what i spent on all of them. lol!

The Kmart Collector Day event is Saturday, February 20th and is the first one for 2010. Maybe there will be Maverick Grabbers in the cases ...

The wife has been instructed to buy every one of these she can get her hands on!!! I mean, Wal-Mart/K-Mart seems to be her favorite past time anyway! May as well give her the okay to spend some big bucks now!!! :)
At 97 cents a pop I'll take 100 right off the bat!!! (I wish) I will keep the Gulf Coast cleaned out though! (y)
