So take this with a grain of salt, but there is talk of Auto World resurrecting the Johnny Lighting brand and releasing new cars in 2016, one of which is supposed to be a 1972 Maverick. I can't find any official word from Auto World, just posts on a couple of diecast sites (Hobby Talk and T-Hunted), but any news is good news for new tiny Mavericks! :bouncy:

Here's the T-Hunted link (from Brazil so only partly in English): http://t-hunted.blogspot.com.br/2015/10/a-johnny-lightning-esta-de-volta.html

Here is more on this subject, I sent the pic of my car to him and was told my car was chosen later on when I inquired more about the release date I was thanked for the pic but another car was chosen. He informed me that the release date would probably be around November.

You can also take this with a grain of salt

I would love to see a Maverick Grabber and Comet GT car produced!

Holy moly, I missed that thread. That's really cool that they base theirs on owner's actual cars, although a bummer that yours wasn't chosen.

Sure looks like mine but then all blue Mavs look about the same, looks like it has different wheels. Just going to have to get a few anyhow

For being less than three inches long I'd say it looks pretty good.

Looks like they're starting to show up in stores. A few people have found them at Target.

Hey, guess it is my car since it has my name on it. Ass Monkeys got nothing on me with their Hotwheels Corvette
