I've owned this 302 Comet GT since 1976. My 71 served me thru 2 colleges, 1 marriage and now resides in the garage next to a 56 Ghia.

Kicking the idea around of selling it off to someone who would love and cherrish it.

    :bs:

Don't tell my kids. They love that tire burner...

I threatened to sell if off of Ebay earlier this week. I heard from all points of the USA.
Kids screaming telling me NOT TO SELL IT.

I know I have had that car longer then them....maybe that is what has them worried...

Maybe I should get it out from the garage, fire it up, cold plate is and smoke the tires off of it just for old times sake....

Nice looking Comet. How much do you think you are going to sell it for? I can understand the kids crying. You might be crying later on, if you sell it.....

My sons are just throwing fits.....I bought this car in 1976 for 1150-cash. It has been in the family serving us up until 1988 whereas, I had the top end rebuilt, and then parked it.

5 kids, single parenting with 5 toddlers meant a Volkswagen Van was bought. This car has only been around the block (albeit with tires on fire) probably 6 times since 1990.

At one time it has a top loader 4 speed in it, which was given to a kid for his Cobra project. Now the old 3 speed is installed. I have a T-5 in a box, and two gallons of original dark green paint....

The howl from Florida to Iraq to Hawaii to San Diego was more than this old man could bare.

The car stays. In fact, the car might be fired this week after a 9 month vacation. Just waiting for the weather to clear a bit.

I might need to re burn some tire marks on the street that I so respectfully owned....

I do have to admit, I have burned more tires off that baby over the years.
Disk brakes and bucket seats were the only two options I wished I had on this car.

No bucket seats? Did it ever have them? If not, then it is not a GT. All in all, though, it is a nice car and you will regret it if you let it go.

Get it out and play with it. I am sure it will bring a smile to your face and a boost to your pulse rate.
