Details and plans for the future.

To start with the car is a very straight Rust free SoCal body, the front suspension has been replaced with a AJE Foxbody K member/strut front end with Wilwood Featherlight rotors and calipers, the original shock towers are there but have been modified for clearance, a Flaming River steering rack handles the steering. The car has a 12 point cage and still retains the factory dash and steering column, frame connectors, mini tubbed, CalTracs traction bars with split mono leaf sprigs and Strange double adjustable shocks. The rear end is a Strange Fab 9 housing, pro gears, 35 spline & spool with Ford Motorsport 11 inch drum brakes. The engine is a stroked FE 427 Side Oiler 4.25 X 4.25 Scat rotating assembly, H beam rods, forged Probe pistons, Comp 306 S flat tappet cam +4, Heads and intake are Ford Hi Riser castings ported by Joe d Crane, Quick fuel 750 cfm carbs, the headers are Flowmax cheap F 150 units, I had to re route the #5 tube to clear the steering rack and I replaced the collectors with Hooker units to correct the poor exit trajectory of the Flowmax units, 3 inch tubes to the 2 chamber Flowmasters, the transmission is a C6 with Broader performance valve body E4OD sprag, 4 pinion planets, F servo lever, Kevlar band and many other mods.
The plan is to paint it all white with White steel rims, a Boss 9 scoop, the rear tires will be M/T Sportsman 10.5 x 29.5 and I have M/T Sportsmans on the front, I'm really wanting an SS/A A/FX type of look kinda like a more modern Thunderbolt...I dunno just thinking out loud.

The chassis sounds pretty stout and the motor.....................Love It!
I think the white color would be a perfect choice.
Watched a 63 Galaxie with 427 Medium Riser/4spd run at SpeedWorld two weekends ago and it was deep into the 11's...................What kind of mod's did you have to do AJE setup to get into the Maverick?

Why such a small engine? Ha ha, have you run this car on the track before? Nothing sounds sicker than an all out FE!

    No 1/4 mile passes yet

I'll need to drive it on the street to finish sorting things out and have some fun while I'm at it, the car as a roller was built by RCS, the AJE cradle looks stock with the exception of the struts rear controll arm links, it looks like they were mounted farther back, I had to relocate the right engine mount location and Move the steering rack up a little to work the bumpsteer out of it, the car weighs 2792 without the hood and front bumper, currently the the rear gear is 3.50 (this was going to be a turbocharged car) and the convertor is a 10" Coleman Taylor unit that should stall 3000-3500 in a heavy car (3800 lbs) but strugles to stall @ 3000 with this light car, still the amount of power on tap is incredible!
To really get serious I would change the cam to a Comp 314B, 5000 stall convertor and 4.56 gears but that would not be street friendly.

If you have any pictures of the AJE setup I'd love to see it. Reason, at the end of next race season I'd like to change to sometype of rack&pinion and deep six the towers. I just get tired of busting my knuckles trying to get the plugs out..........plus it takes a lot of time.
Your car is pretty light, mine was at 3325 with me in it, plus the car was originally setup for B/SM and had a ton of carpet/sound deadener that I have just removed, so it should be alittle lighter. It's tubbed to fit the 13" tires and back in the day you had to use steel, you couldn't use aluminum.
I haven't had a fast street car for over 8 years but yours sounds like it would be lot fun......................I had a 64 Comet HiPro w/mod'd 289 back in the 70's with a wide ratio toploader and 4:56's, which I drove on the street and it was a blast!...........although with todays gas prices it would have been a little expensive to drive on the street.
Keep us in the loop as your progress.
