    Okies!

Now the next question is who to get insurance from for my beast? I've tried numerous places but they don't even know what the Comet is...Tis' a shame, i know! But they ask me if i'm sure that the make and model of my car are correct...did i miss a memo or something?!:hmmm:

    Daily driver or pleasure?

If this is your regular driver, you will need standard coverage. Somebody isn't doing their job if they can't figure out what a Comet is at the insurance office. You'll need standard auto coverage to drive it to work etc. Nationwide, State Farm, Liberty Mutual etc.

If this is a hobby vehicle, maybe just for Sunday drives, you can go with
collector car insurance. There are age restrictions for that coverage, as well as mileage limits with some companies. This type of insurance will get you full replacement/repair value as they are priced based on the value that you state the car is worth. But it's cheap coverage. They won't cover it if you drive it to work or routinely.
Google Haggerty, American Collectors Insurance, I think State Farm even has classic vehicle coverage.

    Good luck.

I paid $262 for daily driver insurance with a big company. JUst talked to Haggerty's and they will insure both that Maverick and add another Comet we have and the Sprint we are restoring for $162 a year. :)

When my Comet was my daily ride (mid-1990s), the insurance company that I was using had to list it as a "Mercury Coronet" ... Comet wasn't in their standard list of models. For some reason, whoever programmed their list did not have brands and models linked together, otherwise that would not have been possible, putting a Mopar model name on a Mercury. I was OK with it because the policy also had the VIN listed if there ever was a dispute.
