Great pictures! Do cars in Brazil rust? It seems every Maverick down there is in great shape! What other Ford cars down there use the same parts as a Maverick? I would guess you guys have a hard time finding parts ....

Well, I have a friend that lives in Ipanema in the avenue in front of the beach and there, all of his cars rust very much. But I live in a contry in Rio de Janeiro that is what about 10 miles of distance of the beach and here, my car don't rust.
The greats shapes are result of a very well successful restoration job and paint. Here in Brazil is not so expensive to restore a car how I guess it could be in USA, because of the cost of the workmanship hand. But is too very difficult to find a great professional in job paint, or in another kind of service. In Rio, a city with 6 milion of population, there are only 2 or 3 good mechanics of engines.
About parts. Hehehehe, You are completely certain. The junkyards do not have more parts nor mavs to cannibalize. So, we have to import from USA, paying six times more that you pay in USA. Hehehehe:cry: . But, the brazilian "Landau", a USA Ford Galaxie version, have the same engine 302 V8 and it's more easy to find parts for this model in the junk yards.:bananaman
There are much parts that are manufactured again. Example is the rear gas original cap for U$ 30 , the original steering wheel for U$ 200 (pictures) and other that I do not remenber here.

AlfredoV8, you have a great looking ride there for sure! (y) Can you post a closeup picture of your grill? I would like you see how they mounted the additinal lights, are mounted in the grill or in front of the grill with a brace?, and how about the center emblem?

I like the stance of your car, it's different, gives it a sleek look.(y)

Also, just curious, what kinds of comments do hear from other people about the Mavericks? I imagine since they had such a great reputation in the 70's for racing that most comments would be favorable.

Did Brazilian Mavericks not have Side Marker lights? Or did you just close up the hole?

Hei Guy, nice to meet you. Well, the grill is another news from Brazil. The additinal lights are originaly mounted in front of the grill with a brace, like the picture. The center emblem is the original GT Brazilian Maverick emblem. I don't think that's exist in USA, I'm right?:)
Another news is the Tachometer (original too), did you see anyone?

You're right, the Maverick are very respected here in Brazil. The fastest drag race in Brazil is a Mav 302. The Brazilian dodges and the GM opala losted all races for the mavs. The actual models mades in Brazil have toy engines, like 1.0 and they see smoke behind the mavericks.

Well, in Brazil we call the marker lights "cat eye" and the Brazilian Mavericks don't have it. We have the 302-V8 like the picture.

Very nice car you have there Alfredo. And I think every city should have a House of Mavericks like you guys have. That's just totally awesome.
