Looks great . A lot of us here are not professional s but we love our cars an enjoy the friends we have on this forum. That's the best of our world.
Looking good! And most of us on here can appreciate the work that someone does on their own. Not everyone has the ability, tools, or location to do their own work, and that's understandable, but there's a special feeling that you get from knowing you're the one who sweated all over the thing making it happen.
I'm not a Tin Knocker or a sheet metal professional , but I am trying to do the inside of this drag car. Well the fire wall is done and 80% of the floor and the trans tunnel is what I'm working on now. I made it in two pieces with the front being removable to get at the trans/engine mounts. Not perfect , but very functional. I made it out of .050 aluminum. I like it.. Wait till I make the dash.
Welcome to the board, I know I saw pics of this car here in the last year or so. Might have been when it was for sale. Looks like a great project, and nice work!
Thanks for the kind words. The car was for sale afew time over the last 18 months after the owner passed. He had a BB /C6 running 8.90s. The car was "Raced hard and put away wet" would be the nice way to describe it. My plan is to clean it up, give it some sleepy door slammer look with a 545 pump gas /c6 and get back to some 10.60 Sportsman Class drag racing. Alot of work yet to go, Maybe by October this year.
more action. Finished with the firewall , Trans tunnel and floor. The front part of the tunnel is removable and the center back section between the wheel wells is also removable. Trans shifter in and getting ready to make a dash.
Yes this did get up and running, but is a Drag car ever finished. Managed to get it to run 10.34 @ 128mph on 91 pump gas.
