Scott Robertson from Shreveport LoUiSiAna. Just got a 72 Maverick 2 door a month ago. Looks to be a full resto. I have found this site very usefull right off the bat, helping me find the door hinge pins. We'll see how that goes this weekend. Hopefully, it will be a daily driver in a year or so. Keeping the 200 inline 6 and changing out the C-4 for a T-5. Updating the engine w/ headers, Weber carb and new distributor. Body not bad, mostly surface rust but the front floor pans need to be rebuilt. Looking forward to some help when needed.
Got the hinge pins from Napa yesterday. Looking at their specs, the pin to bushing tolerate is .025. Went to Dorman Product and found a set with. 002 tolerate, part #703-269. Order a set for the driver's door from Auto-Zone. Will see what happens next week.
That is the part number I got from Napa. I'm going to try the Dorman pins first. $10 a door, it might end up too tight. I still have the Napa part. I have a least a year or so time frame for the build.
There is an update in that tech article - I switched to using the Autokrafters kit - no drilling is required. They are a perfect fit. The NAPA parts are fine, they just require more work. from Wisconsin!
