Hi, the rear springs seem fine, I had to renew the shackle bushes, they have 3" lowering blocks, again, I might raise it a little, I decided to cut 1/12 coils with a shelby drop on the front for now, I think it had 6cyl springs on , as it started life as a 6 cyl car. Im curious about the front brakes, they are obviously not original discs, as they only just clear the 14" rims

putting some miles on it at last...visiting a local classics race meeting....quite happy with new ride height mav.jpg , but it still hits the exhaust on our vicious speed bumps

    Hi,
Welcome to the board (even if I am late to seeing all this ... lol).

About the front discs barely clearing 14 inch rims .... I would bet they are what came on the car. You probably have 14x7 rims there and the inside lip gets very close to the caliper. These cars would not have come with that wide of a rim originally. A 14x6 clears it, and jumping up to a 15 inch rim also has plenty of room with it's added diameter.

Small bit of advice .... the back of the hood has dropped a bit. You probably have squashed or missing hood bumpers, which is pretty common. They sit on top of the fender flange, under the edge of the hood. When opening the hood, be sure to pull it forward, before up, to prevent chipping the paint on it and the cowl. The bumpers can likely be had from a Mustang part source. I think I read a discussion here about a hinge adjustment that can help too.

Also, saw you mention poly bushings. Good stuff ....EXCEPT ... I hope you didn't put poly in the front strut rods that run forward off the lower A-arms. If so, that is dangerous, and can snap those rods. I had that happen myself. Fortunately, it let go while driving slowly, going over a speed bump. When it did, it ripped the steering wheel out of my grip and the car made an immediate hard turn. Would have been a bad thing at any kind of speed. If you have poly there, get back to a rubber bushing .... or there are some suppliers that have some very sexy aftermarket strut rods with a pivoting end. ;):thumbs2:

Thanks, the hood bumpers were missing, I just fitted some smaller dia mercedes ones I had , but my main problem is really bad wear in both hinges, I hope its just the pins, I plan to drill them out and replace them (must be something I can use) if the holes are not too bad. I contacted the PO and he tells me the front brakes are stock, so that helps with sourcing parts. I only fitted poly bushes on the rear shackles and front stabiliser links, mainly because they are easier to get over here than stock bushes, Im not a fan of using them all round as I like a bit of comfort when driving, thanks for the tip

i always thought a title was needed, but it looks like it might work with a bill of sale only. still, additional documentation is needed:
    https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/de...sion/L3RpbWUvMTQ4Njc1NDk1OC9zaWQvSGJCQWxWYW4=

and it might be hard to get the car registered over here in europe without an original title, but i have no experience on that.

How much did all that cost? Did you do any of it yourself? I love it!
