grille and bumper are both maverick. Someone ditched the big bumpers and used maverick stuff. If I get a comet parts car, I will keep the hood and grille and swap back when I find a skinny bumper.

The trunk had a bad leak in it and started to rust from the inside out. The batt
ery box is gone and the core support by it has a lot of rust....but the rest of it is rust free for the most part.

As the rain in Portland subsides a bit, I have been able to pull the plastic off the car and begin to figure out what is needed under the hood. I bought the car as an unfinished 302 swap, and I inherited all the dead ends of the previous owner(s). I took the pulleys out of the trunk to see if they fit. The crank pulley fits, the water pump pulley hits the crank pulley. I write down part #s and discover I have a '65 crank pulley and a '72 6 cyl water pump pulley. I also notice that my lower radiator hose port on the radiator is on the wrong side, and the top port looks like it will never make it to the Tstat housing without the weirdest hose known to man. The engine code tells me I have a 1971 "torino" 302. I go to pick&pull ( 3 miles away) to see what I see.....only 1 pre 50 oz. SBF in the whole yard (I have read enough posts to know the 28 oz vs 50 oz 302 schemes), a 1976 van with a 351. I also notice the water pump inlet is driverside.....hmmmmm. It has a PS pump of the GM style with a bracket that bolts to the water pump, and I think...hmmmmm. So, I get the water pump, WP pulley, Tstat housing (which turns up 90 degrees and looks like a hose would actually work on my car with it) power steering pump and bracket. That night at home, I learn some of the differences between 60s and 70s SBFs, of which the 302 in my car happens to be a mix of. Today I went back for the lower pulley and harmonic balancer, but ruined it with my steering wheel puller......oops. Other parts collected to date: 1980 Granada disc brake spindles,rotors,calipers,p-valve, C4 (car had a 250 with 164 tooth flex plate and A servo) block plate, cooling lines, speedo cable, From maverick in WA P&P: drive shaft, grille, Ebrake cables (mine were cut), hood prop, Other misc items: black steering wheel, throttle cable & bracket, mustang bucket seats, tailight housing driverside (thanks Steve) keys from the locksmith, And a ton of stuff from Rock Auto waiting for installation. I almost have enough junk to make one car!!!!!! This is fun, but the work is waiting....
