when i'm driving in manual 1st, the tranny holds gear and keeps the rpm, i spoke with tci manager now, and he sais its not in the valve body, now i have to take the rear servo out and inspect it.

The rear band is used in reverse. Have you checked the rear servo piston and seal assembly? In low gear the one way clutch holds it in low unless you are in manual low - then the one way clutch will hold it if the band is not working. If you have all the forward gears and no reverse the problem is usually that rear servo seal that is molded to the piston. They crack at the edge of the metal piston and leak through. You can get at it with the tranny in the car and if you are real good you can change it out with a new one without losing the strut that connects to the band. Be sure to lube the piston shaft and seal surface with vaseline when you install it. You will want to check the band adjustment after you replace the servo too.

well found out whats wrong with my trans, dropped the trans pan earlier today, didn't really find anything in it, found a little ball on the floor after i dropped it not sure if it was there before or not, but decided to drop the valve body to investigate further, found the real reason reverse wasn't working, the rear band ancor fell off somehow, which is :bs:i think, brand new transmitions shouldn't have anything falling apart in em, makes me wonder.
looks like i'll be able to fix myself in the car tomorow. hopefully it all goes smooth. the tci warrenty manager won't call me back now ether. thats the last time i buy anything tci

is the adjustment on the front band same as the rear band?

Factory adjustments are 1-3/4 turns out from snug on the front, 3 turns out from snug on the rear. I usually set mine at 1 turn front, 2-1/2 turns rear.

little update on my situation, i'm going to take the trans out sometime this week, freight collect it to their place, they are going to rebuild it for me, and ship it back at no charge, after good half hour of talking with their warrenty manager. i should have the trans back a week or so after i ship it out he said.
