A friend says he fills up his Falcon with non-ethanol gas before storing for the winters. He said it is less prone to gumming up the fuel system. Has anyone here tried that?

There's a place near where I grew up the sold 110 octane. it was like $9 a gallon. Not sure of the ethanol percentage.

I'll drive mine on good days, even in winter, fresh gas added year round.

There's numerous videos on youtube about how to make your own ethanol free gas. Basically dump a gallon of water in four gallons of gas, shake, ethanol will be attracted to water so separates. Drain off water. Octane will be reduced as the alky gives a bump in numbers.

If any thing Ethanol will help clean it up. The corrosion in the pictures is from water in the system.

I fill up with "pure gas" locally at the end of the season. In fact, due to various reasons, I'm still working on the tank that I put in the Maverick in October 2019. I run whatever through the year and the store on pure gas.
