I'm new to this forum not sure where to post but just got a Honda motor for free, only problem is the motor runs reverse to how a typical motor runs. I got both motor and trans and was hoping I could just reverse the axle

Sounds like an older Honda that did indeed run "backwards", as they mounted them sideways (transverse) and had the accessory side of the engine on the drivers side for some reason.

Sounds like a major project to get something like this to mount up and work in a conventional rear wheel drive designed car. My advise - sell the Honda to a collector restoring vintage Hondas and buy a good old Ford motor for your Maverick.

Whatever you decide - good luck with your project ………….
