Ok another question about gear ratio....

    Mark's nailed it right on the head, for a daily driven car. Who (but you) runs around doing 6000 rpm blasts EVERY TIME you leave a stop sign or red light ?(must be the local judge's best customer too :biglaugh:) I've been driving manual transmission vehicles (cars and trucks, up to the 18 wheelers) and nothing is more useless than a "too deep" ratio'd transmission/rearend combo. My 06 Mustang GT was the latest, with it's 5 speed manual and 3.55 rear, I seldom if ever, used 1st gear in daily driving. Second gear take-offs were the norm for that car.
