A friend of mine owns a 70 1/2 Z28 that has 11,000 miles on it. It was ordered/purchased with the sole intent of drag racing. It is silver with black stripes and a black vinyl top and blue interior. When he asked the original owner why he ordered a vinyl top, the owner told my friend that it was to save the paint on the roof from getting beat up when they had the hood off to tune at the track. (Four hood pins, no hinges). May be BS, but it makes sense. I doubt many original Maverick owners had the same intentions when they ordered theirs.
Throw a vinyl top and tastefully-mounted 3-butterfly scoop on that and yes, that's about what I'm looking for. Maybe with a tad higher stance, over-all, with the same rake.
3 butterfly scoop have one of those scoops that was on mine when i bought it-almost new-dont want-anyone want or need one before i take it to a swap meet-50..00 or make offer-pics avail. wes
