maverick1970: Robert is correct, Gainesville in the Ozark Mountains. I bet the "can you hear me now" guy has never been there! :D

Maverick Man: yeah, your right. The evil "resto-mod demon" talks to me daily. But I have the race car to put aftermarket stuff on and I am REALLY planning on keeping this original. As far as a price? Well, lets just say you cannot put a price on spending 2 days with Ward, 10 hours each day in a truck, pulling a maverick on a trailer. Enjoying the beautiful scenery and just talking about life, cars and hot chicks! ;)

Rick: I agree, the interior is too cool! The wife hates it and to me thats more reason to keep it

Dave the belts are still there. I already have new belts, hoses, plugs, wires and filters. All I need are tires and radiator and I am ready for the cruise up to you cook-out.**** gotta get the tires before the trip, I took it to Wards today and man-o-man wil them bias ply's wear you out
as a matter of fact, as I was leaving Wards today, he was in his driveway and he looks at me while I am pulling away and says "your in maverick heaven, aren't you?" and I guess he is right. there is just something about these old cars.

    Thanks again.

Nice car, I am familiar with Gainesville, with the weather, the scenery and the car the trip sounds like the makings of another MasterCard commercial. Priceless!

Its got a 250 in it.....I guess  atleast that is what it says on the breather cover. But I have had several people tell me that is kind of rare for a 70....is this true?

Dan, if you really think about it, do you truly want to hear about a "hot chick" conversation between Ward and I? :D

Lets just say there is a lot of fine goats in Missouri

Whatever you do, you really should put front disc brakes on it. Electronic ignition is a good idea as well, but the brakes are a must...

John, I have a factory original 250 in my 70', and it was an option, so it looks like you have a 250! (y) At least for now! ;)

250 came out in January of the 1970 model year I believe.

yes I agree TL disc brake would/will be nice. That is one of the few mods that I want to do. I would luv to keep it all original, but sometimes safety has got to be the priority.

250 is a cool little motor with some "spunk"....its not fast ( I think my other 70' is kind of fast) but it did surprise me.

o yeah...the radiator is coming out this weekend. The belts are so stretched that there is no more adjustment (tightening) with the alternator, so the belts will be changed this weekend as well. All the hoses are going and the thermistat also. Voltage regulator is outa' there and next week tires. I have gotten the OK from momma to get it ready to head to Daves for the cookout on the 4th of Sept.(y)

Should be a blast cruising 3+ hours in the mav. Hopefully it will be uneventful with the exception of a lot of looks! I am really starting to get hooked on these "simple" drivers.....unlike my other one
