more pics. am having trouble getting them in a row, they keep coming out side by side. bare with me, it will improve.
I posted a wanted add on craigslist to try to find a donor car and have had 2 replies already. One guy lives very close to me and has 2 Mavs and a Comet. He's just selling parts and I think he's a little high on his prices. Although it's good to know I have a source close by if I need it. The second reply was for a 76 Mav, he's asking $750 and it's 2 and a half hours away. Dont have a lot of info on it except it has sport mirrors, rear spoiler (not sure if its a grabber spoiler or after market), 6cyl and A/C. Trying to get info out of this guy is like pulling teeth. Took 3 days to get an address from him. So far it has everything I need except a V8, but I wont have any trouble with that. If it's in good enough shape, I will use that for the project and use the 72 for parts. It will look like a 72 when I get done with it. I will sell off surplus parts to off set the cost.
scored a donor car today Picked up this 76 maverick today. Has AC, power brakes and many other parts I need for the project. It came with a rear Grabber spoiler that looks to have never been on a car. I will post more pics when I get it home.
Typical...the disease has set in....before you know it, that's all you'll talk about, and think about...join the club....
Im already there Dave. I told my wife about the Columbus swap meet and she says" Oh sure, you HAVE to go, you dont ever get to do any car stuff. " See you there!
looks like a solid car. working on them is the biggest fun part to me. keep pics coming as you progress
Not that it matters, but I got the 76 running the other day and parked it when I wanted it. The last few days I worked on getting the 72 running. Was able to take it for a quick ride today.
People are going to drive by, and wonder why the heck anyone would have all those Mavericks, just tell them it's your retirement plan. Crap, it looks like spring there!!!!!
I removed the filler neck today. Im using the neck and tank out of the 76 so I dont need it and another member here may have a use for it. Since it was cold this morning and my tail panel is damaged, I cut the sheet metal out around the neck to remove it easier. Kinda looks like its ready for a parachute
