It's a roller, and yes, I'll be checking PTV close with this new combo. I don't foresee any issues, with the AFR's having inline valves, but you never know. Valve reliefs on the new pistons look pretty significant as well, but I'll be verifying to be sure. Oh, and 1.6 on the rockers.

I had a brand new set of Venolia's once for a 466 that have very generous valve reliefs. I sold them to friend that had a more immediate need of them. He built the motor, figuring he'd have plenty of PV clearance and he would have, if the pistons were machined correctly. In reality, he bent all his pushrods and some valves when the valves did not align with the reliefs.

On the balancing you mentioned earlier, or maybe it was Dan who said it.. most aftermarket cranks estimated bobweight will be around 1750 or more so you should be fine with those parts. Easy to rough calculate and compare to your cranks spec's so you get no surpises later on when the spin it on the machine.

And don't underestimate what the swap to 1.7 ratio intake rockers will do for midrange torque on a combo like this. Not just the extra .030 or so of lift to be gained.. but the faster acceleration makes the cam seem bigger at .050 on up. 5 to 10 ft/lbs average gains would equal money well spent. I just sold my set of Scorpion 1.7's to help pay for my Crower 1.8's otherwise I'd have passed them over to you for a killer price you would've surely jumped at.
