Overheating issues in hot weather

    I would recommend a higher temperature thermostat, like about a 190 or 195. It won't hurt your engine a bit and the greater the difference between the engine temperature and the outside temperature the more heat you can transfer. Basic thermodynamics. An electric fan is good too.

    Basic thermodynamics or not, unless current thermostat is defective it'll still overheat on a hotter stat, probably more so.

    If spraying water onto the radiator cools it right down, then I imagine anything that increases the radiators task of shedding heat would help. I also vote for a shroud or a shrouded electric fan.
