I've got about a million people looking for rears for me right now, why not one more?
See what they want for a center section if you have time and let me know? I'll be going down there in the next couple of weekends anyway, maybe I can make a quick trip to the boneyard. Thanks Coop.

    Hey Coop.
Ended up getting both 2.79:1 and a 3.50:1 center sections today from a local yard that is out of business. Also grabbed two grills (Maverick) later ones with the lights in them.
I'll take some pictures before too long and post them in the parts section.

    Hey Ray,
Right on !!!!!!! We're going racing........Then to a car show. You might want the 3.50 gears for racing. I have 3.55 in mine, does fine on the freeway, about 3,000 rpm at 60mph. I'm all excited now. Can't wait.....Do you need any help installing it? Let me know. I'll make the drive north on a Sunday.
    Keep in touch!(y) (y)

I'm going to plug in the 2.79 gears for the drive down and while I've got the rear end apart, I think I'll weld in a drain plug and a fill plug. When I get to kent on friday, I'll be putting the 4.11 spool back in it for racing, then put the 2.79 back in for the drive home Sunday evening.
The 3.50 is going to end up being my regular gearset for the car, but I'll be rebuilding it with some sort of posi or locker. Maybe a powertrax.

Sounds good. Swapping in the big cam today and hope to take the car to the dyno next week and dial it in there.

Sounds like a hell of a plan. I can take my floor jack & jack stands to the strip for Cliff & you to use, if you like.

Just a little over a week away. The All Ford Drags. Looks like it is going to be a pretty good turn out. And with the All Ford Picnic car show the next day. I have to agree with Cliff, this is going to be the "Pacific Northwest Event of the Year!". Here's everyone's chance to see Mavericks & Comets in force, at the drags & the car show. I know I'm tired of being the only Comet or Maverick at these shows. And we get to give a plug for the MCCI at the same time. I'm excited to see the reaction from everyone at these two events. I wonder how many will say, "You don't see Maverick's anymore". Or...."I use to have a Maverick, wish I still had it". Or..."I didn't know they had a Maverick/Comet Club". So, come one come all! Don't miss this once in a lifetime chance, to see Mavericks & Comets in abundance, in the Pacific Northwest.

Had a good showing at the All Ford Drags. But, we were rained out. A few of us went to Denny's & made the best of it. We also tried again at at 3pm for bracket racing (rained out again). I guess it just wasn't our day for racing.
Oh, well.....We had a good time talking & getting to know one another. Also made new friends. Sounds like a pretty good day after all. Can never have enough friends (specially ones who share Mavericks/Comets). Even though I was out numbered (the only Comet). I was told I was the token Maverick parts car. LOL
