The lip of my grabber hood was way rusted out too. What a bummer and the previous owner did a piss poor job of trying to fix it. Instead of going aftermarket I got a donor hood from another forum member (thanks Ryan!) and my guy grafted the front of the donor hood to my grabber hood thereby removing the rusted out portion. And the way he did it makes it very strong and solid...plus the underside will look fairly factory. After a little filler, sanding and paint you won't be able to tell.
Great saves on those hoods. That was cool advice to use a fender to repair the rear wheel arch, too. That could prove useful here, given what I have on-hand.
Looks like a nice job, Gene! You're really "Going To Town"!! Was that an aftermarket quarter, or an NOS one?
Got the quarter from AutoKrafters...I can't take any credit for the job though...someone else is doing the work! Way past my capabilities.
WOW, beautiful job on the quarters - maybe I should have simply used my 2 complete quarters instead of using pieces out of them - they look great used in one piece but as patch panels they are not quite the same and gave me troubles
More progress pics Here are two more progress pics...all the metal work is done so now onto the actual body work.
