My dad had one of our cars painted by them about 2 years ago. Came out good, not 100% perfect but good enough for a small car show, the car is driven daily, and the paint has held up great so far. Main thing is dont get the cheapo $200 or something like that. He got Base coat/clear coat. which is about their top of the line job.
I think Maaco is capable of a decent paintjob, however it's gonna cost you. It's not gonna be their $450 special...

you are right about MAACO being able to turn out quality jobs. i had mine painted at the local shop several years ago and it still turns heads. the secret is to do all the prep for them. you also can't expect to pay the "special" price and get quality. i talked to the manager and explained what i was looking for and we both talked to his painter to make sure he could do it. now don't get me wrong, it isn't concourse painting but it is a passable show paint with the right prep. like what was said even with MAACO you get what you pay for. sorry you had a bad experience. if you want to come down here i will hook you up with my guy.
