I have cleared solid colors of acrylic enamel. It definately extends the life of the paint and improves the shine. two coats color, third coat mix 50/50, last coat all clear. Only waited a few minutes between coats to flash. I tried this with metallic acrylic enamel and it tiger striped the paint. I will never do that again. I only do metallic in base/clear now.
