Thanks guys! It's been -20*C here lately, until today when it climbed to +6*C. Luckily it's always +20*C inside the garage! :)

I also started the tear-down of my heater box. There will be some work to be done here. Lots of cleaning, blasting and painting.

Brake pedal assembly looks great. :thumbs2: Boy you have your work cut out for you on the heater box.

Who is that guy's picture on the photo ID hanging from the shop wall?

Nice work Paul! I thought my heater box was in bad shape; looking at yours I have to changed my mind. I got away clean in comparison..

Thanks. I did some blasting on the metal parts of the heater box last night. The blend-door frame assembly is kind of thin on the top and bottom, but I should be able to make the repairs. I'm just happy nothing BROKE suring the tear-down process. That young, handsome devil had that picture taken 12 years ago. I'm surprised people still recognize me at work, cause that's NOT what I look like now...

Thanks Everett. It probably looks worse than it really is. I was able to get everything freed-up and I should be able to make the necesary repairs. I have a new heater core and new gaskets, blower motor and fan. The hope is that when I'm done, it will look better than new and be immune to any future moisture/rust concerns.

Ok Don! Interested in how u restore the box. I used POR15 base and Rust-O-Lem Aluminum oil base topcoat. So far no issues.

I have been using POR-15 for all of my rusted areas and will do the same for the parts inside here. I don't think I'm going to topcoat the parts inside the box, as they will never ever see Ultra Violet light.

BTW, I'm Paul... not Don....

Oh, well. I think that many of us have that problem of using the wrong name or forgetting several things. I know that I do anyway.

All in good fun, anyway. I am in DIRECT competition with Don Comfort right now! :D I HAVE to get my car finished before he finishes his Sprint, or else that will be TWO cars he's finished before I've finished mine...

Sorry Paul! My bad! I am going to blame the name thing on a "Senior Moment". I did get it right in my previous post.
Anyway, want to see the pic of those metal parts in that box when u finish it. It looks so bad to me I am wondering if it will be able to get it to function properly.
