Eww, man I could imagine. I remember when I wrecked my Grabber, I thought the smoke comeing out from under the hood was the radiator. Turned out to be the battery got shoved into the alternator fan. I opened that hood, and man... sulfuric acid steam isn't good.
on my first car the upper radiator hose moved downward a bit and the alternator fan took a chunk out of it. about halfway home the car over heated. all i had was a 2 liter bottle of BigK root beer. smelled like burned chocolate, but it got me home.
They seem long, but not 300 miles long . I was reading in another post about the way we have our wires ran, well, i've been working on that too. I am starting many projects at this point that I hope turn out worthy of showing off. So as I progress in my thoughts, I hope to get some ideas from you guys and come up with things I would have bought if I saw it on the shelf. Keep in mind that untill some things are said to be "complete", they are at times cheap or funny looking. So heres my next brain storm...
Has it been proven that the shorter the wire the better? How about equal lengths? What is best?, before I make my wires up, thanks
Strictly speaking, shorter wires are better... Less resistance. However the gain is surely so small, considering the relative short length of plug wires anyway, that it could hardly be measured. IMO Dave
Kinda my thoughts. Guess i'm excited to finally get the wires i've been dreaming of and I want to take just a little time to fully understand as much as there is to know before I start cutting and triming them and stuff. thanks
