It appears that the DSO is 84, and if so it is listed as "Home Office Reserve." What does that mean?

    Again, very cool score, MapleMav

    I can't read it...maybe the "8" is a "B"?

I don't think so... I think all DSOs are 2 digit numbers:
Here are the Ford DSOs for 1972:

would home office reserve mean something like a showroom car? i.e.-a car that was loaded w/options and only made it to the local showrooms and not truly for sale.......although all cars are built for sale.......

I know that gm has that type program, and sometimes the dealership I worked at would sometimes get cars like that through the gm auction. The last one was a 03 regal gs that was a "showroom car" with 800 miles on it..........Robert

Canadian DSO's have a letter and a number...like A1, A2, etc. Somewhere those are posted.

OK I think you guys are on to something here. You got me started thinking so I went outside to look just now and the DSO is definitely a "B4". So I checked my 4-door and it's got the same DSO code. I can remember when I first got the 4-door, thinking it was an "84" and thinking it was odd when I found it was the code for Home Office Reserve. Anyhow Craig, you are correct. There is a site that lists the Canadian DSO's. "B4" is apparently the code for the mid-western region, Manitoba and Saskatchewan DSO. Here's the link:
