How much work did i have to do??? Well i guess it's how you want to look at it,i bought the car from a friend who had it brought up from South Carolina 10 years ago,the body was perfect, the floors were washed off and painted,i can't even find were the would have been any surface rust anywhere,he had the cage put in and the shell painted [ dodge bright blue] then left it to sit for 9 years. When i bought it last year the car was completely stripped,no glass, wiring, engine, trans,it had a 9" housing with axles but no center section,i literally brought it home in 3 truck loads. So a long story short i built the car in 5 months, including the engine, trans and rear end.I can honestly say i did everything on this car myself [exept paint which i can do].I still have a few bugs to work out,the wheel hop probem for one but all and all i really enjoy this car,i drive it anytime i can.Derek P.s my photo shop has spun a bearing so i can't resize any more pics right now
Beautiful job. I am a complete sucker for dog dish rims and caps. Looks like you are going to try a little wider, which is what I would do. Thats a car Mercury should have built in the first place.
You nailed it! Don't change a thing Derek. You found a look not too many V8 Mavericks have, and moreso you absolutely nailed the sleeper "Plain Jane" look I love. I've always had a soft spot for early to mid-sixties sleeper cars with this same look, but it's rare to see anyone carry that over into the seventies. Nice work, and may I say the stick-shift trans is simply icing on the cake. You Da Man!
