I think satin finish wheels or grey painted wheels wud accent the rest of the car. Otherwise, I like the rest.
Thinking of matte sky blue vinyl wrap with matte black stripes...Got a pretty outrageous quote at a local place (1350$) to wrap the car.
Ever wrapped a car? It can be a real pita. I profiled and wrapped a mini-van door as an example for my dad's shop when we were considering expanding our vehicle vinyl services, it was about 200 dollars in labor and materials because I couldn't find a profile for just the door and it took 3 printed attempts to get a clean final fit. We considered doing my 71 comet in a full body wrap and priced it out to 900 dollars for the labor and materials if everything went well the first time. And that was with me doing all of the graphic design and vehicle profiling myself, only bringing in our main graphics designer for finishing, and our installer for the actual installation (which is not easy). $1350 is a steal imo.
I'd have to agree. I saw rthomas771's car in person last week and bright chrome looks great with Grabber blue. It's just a matter of personal taste. It looks good but some of us just like chrome. But as I just found out, chrome ain't cheap. I'm getting one of my bumpers rechromed. Ouch.
I like the car as is and dont like alot of chrome but after looking at the car outside in the sunlight it is kinda missing something. the wheels could be the issue. I cant quite figure it out. the paint jumps right out at you but I think maybe a black boss stripe down the side and some aluminum colored wheels might just bring the side of the car to life. can you see very good at night with the tint on the windows? I am thinking maybe even darker tint on the windows? I cant see anything wrong with the paint. I like hte color and how bright it is compared to how dark the bumpers are while not a big fan of chrome (over rated in my opinion) I do believe a small dose of it is just what the doctor ordered sometimes. kinda like a vitamin when you already feel good. just something to put you over the top still a nice car
Remember that highly modified red Maverick....I've seen pics here and I think it was on ebay for like $22000. It had nice some really nice looking black wheels.
Once I get my car really sorted it will be a real driver...split between it and motorcycles. Rain, snow, whatever. I want to enjoy her. That said, I think matte sky blue wrap with black stripes and black wheels with a polished lip would complete the look.
Anyways, the plastidip is VERY hard to keep clean and looking nice. Vinyl wrap (on my previous cars) has always worked great and looked good, scratch and chip resistant...etc. VERY easy upkeep. Little worry of scratching it via washing or normal wear and tear.... Who knows it does not even drive yet haha.
