If you are going to drive it only occasionly on the street, or more often in performance situations, go with the 2600. However if you are going to drive it often, in traffic, limited racing, the 2600 is going to build up more heat in stoplight to stoplight driving. Your revs will be near 2600 before full power gets to the wheels leaving a stoplight. If comp cams says you need a stall, it is a steep cam with lots of duration. Seth
Their coming. You just need to have a fuel injection system & they are not hard to come by now. There's an older guy at work that had a 4.6 Cobra motor with the charger on it shipped to our job. It came with the transmisson & computer. He told me where he is getting the wireing harness from but I can't remember, but the company is in Ark. somewhere. He said they do good work. He has a 1970 Nova with a Corvette motor in it. I think it's a LT1. The Cobra motor is going in a old Ford Truck. He didn't say how much it cost & I didn't ask. I didn't want to know.
that stupid if you have to have computer to run 6speed :-( I wanted to go to 5speed but then you said 6 but not going threw teh trouble of putting computer in.
Hey KilgOre, He said that you may not have to use the computer. He had to on the Nova because of the automatic trans. The cobra motor was sold to him all in a complete package. He said it's cheaper if you buy it together. He said the engine is about $14,000 by itself. He paid $17,000 for everthing. Drop in & go.
Here is a six speed that don`t need no compoopers. http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=esearch.asp&N=100&Ntk=PartSearch&Ntt=rmg-7041626aa&x=15&y=15
Seems like they sell the trans but not the shifter for it. Thats alot. I believe you can buy the Gear Vendors overdrive system cheaper and turn your 4 speed into a 8 speed. I'll bet its a whole lot stronger too.
