Mike thats a great link, thx alot. The new carb and Traction bars are on...I may have to take it for a run Friday night. Gonna index the plugs too.
Bigger not better???? Make sure to size your exhaust from header to muffler correctly. My engine is very mild compared to many on this board (230 hp?)My exhaust is a set of cheap headers with 3" outlet reducing down to 2-1/4" to the mufflers and turn downs. I switched to 2-1/2 inch pipe and lost .2 seconds in the 1/8 mile consistently and no tuning would make it any better. Most of the time loss was by 330' so my thinking is that I lost torque. Needless to say I went back to my cobbled 2-1/4" pipes. Cleaver
Has anyone seen or tried the elecrically operated cutouts in the exhaust...flip the button and you have open headers...switch off and back to your regular exhaust. The premise sounds good but not sure how well they work.
i seen them...they TITE ! fun investment in my opinion...less you dont mind unbolting ur exhaust -beau
I really want to try this, but no one around here will weld them in. I guess I'm gonna have to do it myself, because I really want to try it. Seems like it would make a difference, and the cool factor at a redlight would be pretty high also...... Not that I would flip the switch and rev it up at a redlight or anything though.....no siree..... Preston
What's the best size pipe to have for the best power when you get duals on a Maverick? I know alot of people have 2 1/4.
