20a fuse, and I went straight to the battery essentially. I know these are typically done on a keyed source but I didn't need a key to roll my windows before and now I still don't!
I got the motor and bracket out pf a 95 Taurus Please note on your swap to be able to get the bracket off of the taurus door panel you have to drill out some weird pop rivets ;-)
i finished with the swap a few days ago and i cant get enough.....any time i feel like rooling up the window i just do it and a big smile happens LOVE IT....
Ah, yeah, I forgot about that. A drill would make it easier. I used a hammer and screwdriver to get the regulators out of the Taurus.
Is the Taurus/Sable mechanism the only one compatible? How about mustang or thunderbird/cougar? Just trying to keep options open in case i can't get the taurus one
I picked up mine from Ebay a few years ago. There were a lot of Taurus/Sable motors for sale then. Just look for rear window motors as they are hardly used compared to front ones so there is a good chance they will be in like new condition
Definably need to do this when I get the mav back on the road, always hated reaching across to roll down the passenger side window.
Exactly how I did mine many moons ago. Got two rear regulators with motors off evilBay for $75. Had to replace both motors since then. They have plastic gears inside that get brittle with age and break.
