I used an NOS door panel medallion like the one in the picture ... you can also get them off of door panels if the panel is bad enought to sacrifice for it.

    Looks great!

I see your speedometer has the red marks above 70 mph and the wider, diffrent looking numbers in the odometer... whats the story behind those? My '69.5 has one in it, none of my other Mavericks do. The red marks are pretty faded out unfortunately. I'm rebuiling the gauges right now, My dad said I should get some red or orange iridecent paint and touch up the marks and the needle in the speedometer and gas gauge. I also noticed the odometer has a metal gear instead of all plastic like the others.

That is a 1970 Speedo ... the only year that had the red marking. I thought it helped out the rather blah gauges Mavericks have so I bought that one NOS. I installed it along with the new 5.0 engine ... so the mileage matches the engine currently in the car.

Ahh, cool. Guess I never paid much attention to the gauges in other '70 Mav's I've looked at. I agree, I like it better then the all plain ones. Guess I will start snatching those up when I come across them.
