I wanted a nice tilt column, so I bought a brand new steel Ididit tilt column and made my own mounts. It actually now mounts as the factory column mounted.

Here it how I did it from start to finish.

Couldn't get in the booth last weekend, but today it was all mine. Today I concentrated on just the valance, spoiler and stone guard. The spoiler and valance will get sanded down and I will flow coat them with a ceramic clear since they will be prone to chipping down low as they are.

I was hoping to get all the interior parts painted this weekend as well, but no room or extra time. Can't next weekend as I will be in Syracuse for the Right Coast car show. So, hopefully the weekend after I can get all the interior parts painted. That includes the dash, gauge bezel I made, the lower dash panel I made and the steering column. All will be body color with matte clear.

    Parts hanging ready for color.......

    In color......

After a 30 minute bake I was able to pull them outside and take a look in the sun.

And lastly my favorite picture really showing the color and how the two parts fit together with a nice tight seam.

Blue is the only color to paint a car. Any other color is a mistake. Well, in my opinion anyway. Looking great Glenn.

Your body mods are awesome, it's nice to finally see color on them! Excellent hue of metallic blue also...

Hey I see how you cut the drip rails, was it just a simple cut and grind or were there layers underneath you had to weld and grind?

It will require lots of welding as there are layers....so not a real simple job.
