    Am I crazy??? Chevy body panels on a Maverick!!

    Every time I look at the front of a Maverick I see the opening below the bumper and the valance. I really don't like it at all. Not a big fan of the turn signals either. I started thinking about what could be done here. One day on another forum I saw a pro touring 69 Camaro. It was a beautiful frontal picture from way down low. I loved the look of their front valance. The car owner had even changed the stock turn signal lights to driving lights. So $45 later on Ebay I bought a new repop front valance.

    In these pics you can see where I have cut the ends of the Camaro valance off. I have it pinned in place to see how it looks. With minor tweaking and some filler panels where the white poster board is I think it will look really cool and unique.

    No, I don't think so, people have been trying to do something like this for years. It's kinda obvious, but it's never been done. Amazing, I'm blown away by the idea. :thumbs2:

    You know I almost didn't post this in fear that someone would copy it before I got my car on the road. It wouldn't bother me afterword. But it would if it was my idea and yet I came late to the party because it is taking me so long to get the car done. Does that make sense??

    I remembered when this thread started and have just now checked back in with it. This is going to one incredibly customized Maverick---great job car-nut. I really dig seeing great fabrication and think that front valance is going to be Saweeet!

    Just goes to prove that if any job is done at this level of detail it's gonna get noticed and appreciated. I think you've got even a lot of the "purist" pulling for you!
