Should Be About In 1/2 To 3/4 From The Edge Of The Bellhousing I Use A 7/16 Box Wrench And Put A Bolt In The Bell Angled To The Convertor To Keep It From Moving Till I Get It Lined Up
Never done that before. Might try that. I usually have someone helping me line it up anyways so one of us holds it anyways, but that could help out a lot
I never knew that about putting the convertor back in. Glad I learned,, I gotta put one back together. Dan
Hey Andy, My flywheel is welded onto the torque so I do not need to worry about this. But thanks for help. Dean
i have a 75 dodge van that has flywheel attached to the torque converter. it uses a flexplate to go in between the converter and the crank. is that how your mav is set up? if so, what engine do you have in it. just wondering.
I am assuming it is a 200ci six cylinder. The teeth are made to the converter. There is a Flywheel but it looks more like a puck. Not that hard to bolt back up. If you have a 302 and they welded the flywheel to the torque converter I suggest starting over with a new flywheel and converter.
Yes this is a 1974 maverick with a 200 six. I have a 250 six that will be going in next spring. It has a different bell housing and the flywheel is bolted to the engine. Yes it has a flex plate that the torque bolts to.
