I've been fantasizing about this swap since I drove the new Boss. I will definitely be following this build!

I'm hoping to use our 11 up long tube step header, catted 3" h-pipe and a 3" stainless builders kit and a set of race pro mufflers

I had a break in the conference I'm at in Phoenix and figured I would post some pics of some parts so you guys can droll at them. I sure did we I opened the crate. This is the SLA front suspension from Cortex Racing. it's a bolt in kit for 65-66 Mustang that is close to a Maverick but not an exact fit. The package consist of the bolt in K-member, adjstable upper and lower control arms and their ultra trick billet spindles. www.cortexracing.com

Awesome! I cant wait to see how you have to modify that cradle to make it fit the Mav frame.

Knowing that the Cortex K-member was not the same dimension as the Maverick frame rails the decision was made to fabricate a new perimeter chassis, besides the torque boxes were not in the best of same anyway. I have to say though it wasn’t far off but just enough to mess up all the geometry that Cortex built into the k-member.
So the next step was to turn the kid loose with a plasma cutter. He removed just enough material to set the k-member in place.

You can see how much of the frame rails we had to remove to get the k-member square and level in the car. Surprisingly the Cortex K-member is not far off the factory Maverick rails.
