Looks great!! I always like to see when panel replacement goes well. I'm dreading the day when I'll have to replace mine.

Anywho... I found this on a vintage mustang site of all places. Never really knew just exactly how quarter replacement was done until I saw this. Pretty neat.

If anyone watches the muscle car show on spike, I think they did the same repair to their mopar a couple weeks ago.

I'm starting on the driver's side quarter panel tonight... may have a small problem with the bend where it wraps around and goes over to the trunk lid, we'll see.

Got it all trimmed up except for the area between the door and wheelwell and the edge along the trunk, where the 'problem' is. It was too late to break out the body hammers... I decided to use the electric clamps ( the welder for those that don't get my sense of humor :coco: ) on this side.. not so many it will be a pain to pull back off so I can finish working behind it, but enough to hold it in place as I trimmed with the cutoff wheel.

I'm a little late catching up with this post, but it sure looks like you did a great job Matt.(y) Dale use's those intergrip panel clamps too and he loves them. Dale has an old saying for those times when an aftermarket panel just won't fit quite right: " When all else fails, get a bigger hammer!":D

Thanks, that means alot coming from you Jean. I am about to break out the small hammers, we'll see if I have to call in the bigger ones. :D

As far as it making it to the Roundup... it's starting to look like not quite as big of a stretch as it used to be. Certainly cars have been put together faster by people on here, but we are talking about me here.

Yep. That's Marks Grabber. It's hard to believe that picture was taken 2 years ago. It just doesn't seem that long ago.
