Thanks for your help as well really apreciate it. Yes your correct they switch the positions somwhere in 77 I belive. Mine is on the left side of the engine so it threw me off for a second but then I figured it out. I have no idea what my dwell is but thats for another day. I am currently working on plumbing the transmission cooler lines etc so I can put fluid in the trans to run the car I couldnt have done it without you folks. I have a flip phone or what they call a dummy phone LOL so I havent got good videos but this weekend ill get some folks with some new phones take a video of what I got going on so far. Still have to do quite a bit of stuff to do but the fact that it runs means I can throw some bolts in the motor mounts and change the filter in the transmission. Hopefully I have a good transmission on my hands we will see once I throw the brakes together and put the driveshaft on.
Probably the first engines with dipstick in passenger side block were '78 Fairmont(bye-bye Maverick) & '79 Mustang both are Fox chassis. Those are rear sump pans, I guess they could work without belly bar installed (I honestly dunno). I converted my '91 Mustang 5.0 to front sump when I installed it in Comet. If you have a front sump, dipstick will only read correctly from timing cover in right front of engine.
I have a rear sump in it currently. I got it to fit but I think I need to make a pan for it that way if anything hits it
I stand corrected its a front sump but im not sure if I converted it but I made sure the pickup was in the right place. I suppose if it wont read correctly I can throw a fresh 5qts in it and mark it I have a 5qt pan
