Preston, the traction bars will help a lot if you dink around with them enough to make them work well. As for the burn out, get 'em nice and hot(a good three seconds after you see smoke) and roll a couple of feet out of the burnout box still spinning. Then do a quick dry hop to clean the balled up rubber off and to clear the carburetor. When you do your burn out get the RPM and tire speed up. I put it in second and vary it between five and six grand. Have fun!

    Hey everyone, hey Country Mav,

I am the proud owner of a 1970 2-door Maverick. It has an inline six, but my friend Jamie is hooking me up with a race ready inline six replacement (200ci). It should be puting out a good 170hp and a fair amount of torque. I'm not sure now if I want to replace that later with a 347ci or maybe add a turbo kit of some sort. I will keep you all updated with my progress with pictures and such. Yeah, I know it does not pertain to the original thread but hey...I don't care too much.

    Jeff.
