Radio Power Wiring

    Possibly dumb question...

    I know blue/purple is illumination.

    Yellow/purple? are both constant power.

    Black/Black Grey is front center speaker.

    Question is, do you need to use BOTH yellow wires together for aftermarket radio power?

    You need whichever wire supplies 12 volts when the key is switched on...

    Will check what has power with key on, was more confused that there are two yellow wires. Have not seen consistent discussion on this topic.

    1972 Comet GT clone 306 . 1969 Fairlane Cobra 428CJ 1988 T-Bird awaiting 331 ..
    Leave as is, nothing more than a splice feeding elsewhere(per owners manual, backup lights & windshield washer).

    Cut apart one will be dead, and something will be missing power.
