It wasn't Koni that qa1 bought out, it was carerra. Most of the 10.5 guys in the area run qa1's or Afco.

Morgan stated that on their shock dyno you could turn the knob wherever you wanted and it really didn't make any difference in the valving.

I have 12 way single adjustable Strange shocks, with a - to + setting...what is done to adjust these to allow the rear to plant harder?

    I have 4 adj. QA1's...

adjusting the fronts one click one way or another makes a huge difference. I loosen them one click on crappy summertime tracks...tighten them one click on "good" track, and one more if I'm running in cold weather/dry air/excellent track prep.

The rears...they do make a difference once you get them baselined, but not as much as the fronts do. On greasy track, I like to loosen the compression and tighten the reb a little..usually 2 and 1, respectively.

I'm sure that the Chassisworks shocks would have been a better bet with their numerous adjustments, but for what they cost, they also should make the car hook on gravel! BTW, my rear springs are 110's. I tried 120's, no difference other than the 60' times started to vary a little bit (like .02 either way of 1.33) so I let them "settle" a while...didn't change, so I put the 110's back on. Right back to zeroxing time slips again. Now, if the driver was worth a crap.............

I love my qa1's, when they are loose you can compress and extend effortlessly.....when they are tight, you can't budge them. And to speak for toughness......when I did that massive wheelstand and let out of the gas, it sent the shocks up through the hood when they bottomed out. They took alot of abuse that day and after close inspection, they are not leaking oil and they function properly!! Very good shocks, IMO!!(y)

Well it turns out a little tire pressure goes a long way. I dropped 1 pound in each tire and ripped off 6- 1.29 60's in a row under what I would term "horrid" track conditions..very little track prep and a lot of street cars making passes ahead of me.
I dialed a number on my last pass...5.80 and ran dead on with a 4...1.29, 60 and an .002 light.
Ironman Classic at the track tonight...if the driver can keep his sheeeeiiiit together the little Mav has a shot.:)

Rotate the adjuster towards the "-" (negative side) two clicks and make a pass. This should soften the shock. Don't go one click at a time. It's like jetting changes....go two sizes until it slows down then back off. If the air pressure change worked then you should try to soften the shocks.
