Are those 7 inches in diameter? Thinking you might find a bezel and bucket from a semi truck. Should be able to get a complete and simple wiring kit for around $130
Contacted the guy who started the project and it has a 29-39 ford truck front end and 87 ford ranger rear with 42 chevy headlights. Sweet. I need to figure out breaks all around.
For the front, you will need 40-48 Ford hydraulic brake stuff. It will interchange with the old manual rod style brakes. The rear stuff should be stock Ranger. I'd use a dual master cylinder, Speedway Motors has a kit that includes the master cylinder, mounting bracket, and pedal assembly for about $100 or so. That's what I plan on using on mine. Oh, Cyclonewill is right about the Dietz headlights. They are the cheapest new ones you can buy, and will work with the brackets you already have. You can get them in chrome, black, and even a prime version ready to paint.
I don't have any brake pedals or any other assembly yet. I was thinking of going with a petal that has the MC mounted on it, would that be ok?

just now found this thread. very cool build. Dad and I would like to build up an old truck like this after the mavs are done.
After trying to rebuild the tranny myself then having a friend rebuild it and all of that just not happening I decided to have someone professional rebuild it for me. So that should be happening in the next few days. In the meantime I will be ordering a brake system for the front and Bryant has some rear brakes for the ranger. Then I still have to go over the suspension stuff and figure out the best way to install a dual master cylinder brake pedal. SN95 mustang brakes front brake assembly
the transmission was supposed to be rebuilt by me but no time so we had it professionally rebuilt. It was pretty filthy inside, it was for a 6 cyl. Here is the old tranny:
Very cool! I've been slowly collecting parts to build a rat for a few years. Just need to find a cab at this point, looking for a 30's dodge pickup cab or a 40's-early 50's F1.
Anyone have any cool junkyard engine ideas? I was thinking something that might be economical on gas as well.
