Hello, my Mav is 74, 250 i6. My problem is when I step on my brake pedal, my rear PASSENGER tail light does not illuminate BRIGHTER. ( if I turn my head lights on, it will light up, but still will not brighten to warn other drivers as I'm stepping on the brakes) Driver side works fine, ( will light up, and dim when I release the brake pedal) so far I replaced the bulb, socket and brake light switch, passenger turn indicator is also not working.... Any suggestions? Thanks fellas...

When I swap the passenger bulb with the Driverside bulb, which is working fine, I still have the same problem on the passenger side only...

Check continuity between the driver brake light and the passenger brake light. Might be a broken wire.

With brake applied or signal on, check for power on the orange & blue wire at the signal sw plug where it exits from column... No power indicate a signal sw problem...

Broken turn signal switches do strange things.

Could be a broken wire between column and lamp socket but continuity from one side to other is through the signal switch... Can't have a common feed between the two or both R&L lights would blink when either was selected...

It's already been stated socket is new...

Here's the internal circuit of the signal switch...

You could be correct, but if symptom is same after replacement, that puts serious doubt that either socket is/was causing problem...

All good information guys, very much appreciated. Diagrams will help much as well. Checking into all of this fun stuff tomorrow. If all else is good, and according to the wiring diagrams, I am starting to think turn signal switch is the culprit .... I will check it 1st. also, the socket is good:)
