Just took out the rear seat back to begin interior work. The mat or pad that was behind the seat back/trunk area is just plain in shreads. What has anyone used to replace or in place of it? Any thing aftermarket? Was thinking maybe on the idea of those cheap thin rubber workout mats? Looks easy to cut and flexable to work with? TOM
Pictures Really easy to work with on the install, 4 screws along the top, 3-m spray glue on the bottom and sides and done in 5 minutes. Plus no mess like tar paper!
Got this one at a markdown place called Tuesday Morning $10. The have them at places like TJ Max, Marshalls,Walmart and Target etc...The can also be found in colors if you look. Don't think the rubber type material could be painted....Even had some extra off the end to sit on while installing... Just finished reinstalling the speakers, new package tray and painting the rear area.
Yes, very spoogee about that thickness. I did not have full one to use, I used the top panel with rear seat back holders and indents as as a guide, I cut around, measure center distances, top and bottom, cut the holes, took about 4-6" off each side. Took it out, used 4-5 screws, then trimed with knife, spray 3-m glue on bottom...nothing to it!
Would that be good to use behind the front kick panels and the rear upper panels as well? I assume that if the rubber is dense enough it should work just fine... looks good by the way!
