Just talked to a buddy of mine .. he's pretty sure he has a roll of the heavy duty felt in his basement ... he said it is 48 inches wide ... he''s gonna check tonight.
There is a place that sells a 48 inch wide rolled rubber material for around three bucks Suare foot its 9 mm think and looks like it might work http://gymflooringdirect.com/flooring_request.php
The one in my Maverick was falling apart so I just cut one out of black carpet looks just great to me.
Dan did you try the roofing felt. I spoke to my neighbor (roofing contractor) and he brought me some but it was to thin. He said there is some 43# commercial stuff that he will try to get me a sample. Anyone have a nice seperator to make a pattern out of?
I got some 30# from a friend .... 43# would work better ... I'd like to see your sample when you get it. I was gonna double up the 30# ...
I just today used roofing felt and replicated the door splash shields that go behind the door panels. Worked real well.
So....smooth rolled roofing has no other material on it? It's nothing more than really thick roofing felt?
It is rolled roofing felt used in a variety of roofing applications...even has the lines on it to line up shingles...I've seen it on "hot" mopped flat roofs and as the sole form of roofing on real old pitch roofs on shotgun houses..I didn't measure mine but it's a good 1'8th inch thick...maybe even 3/16ths...Craig is right, a commercial roofing contractor would surely have some.
